Stop the opening of A. Finkl in the Burnside Neighborhood!
A. Finkl is moving to the Burnside Neighborhood; however, the Burnside Neighborhood Association is fighting to stop this move. The EPA list A. Finkl & Son as the 21st worst polluters in the nation out of more 16,000 facilities listed in the EPA’s Risk-Screening Environmental indicators database. Finkl chose Burnside with the trade off of offering jobs and because they thought they would be met with little resistance. Our goal is to prove to them they were wrong. The chromium, lead, manganese, nickle and zinc from Finkl’s factory is reponsible for nearly a third of the city’s total health risk. Burnside Neighborhood has launced a petition to prevent A.
